Collaboration with Austin Voll.
A new low table from Beech and Ash trees. Austin finished the top with curved Kanna and a Namazori giving a smooth textured finish to meet a carefully selected riven piece of ash sunk in the centre that covers a half hidden box below. The ash was finished with hand rubbed sumi ink from Japan. I’ve been waiting 5 years for this Beech tree to dry since it was cut down at my parents house and carefully stacked to dry. It had been inoculated by several different fungal strains and was showing signs of decay, hence the dark marks left by mycelium running through. A view into unknown landscapes, hopefully this can be exhibited in September or when the time allows, it is much nicer in person
