Man Alive

Man Alive,
And man is a poem,
Man is holding up the sky,
Only because he wants to,
Earth holds up man,
Only because she wants to,
Man is burning but yet still,
Alive

This is a chair for our time. A story of connection to our natural earth, which is burning, and so also of rebirth. Arms are held aloft to the sky, eyes wide open, for new life. Made with a beech tree that had been inoculated with mycelium, which can be seen in the dark figure running through.
